Thanks to the generosity of the auxiliary committee for Kanandah Residential Hostel, staff and residents will have an easier way of living and working together.

Kanandah auxiliary committee raised funds to buy a motorised power based wheelchair, a shower/commode chair and two special pressure core mattresses for the local residents.

Committee member, Roslyn Sharpe said they became aware of the need for these items after the staff notified them and then they began to raise funds for their purchase.

“We try to accommodate for the needs of the residents in many ways, not only by raising funds for equipment but also providing gifts or such things as wool for the ladies to use in craft time,” she said.

Administrator, Sue Pearce, said that the auxiliary committee’s monetary aid is well appreciated and needed now more than ever due to reduced aged care government funding.
