Sausage kings of Mudgee

They’re sometimes referred to as mystery bags - but there’s nothing mysterious about these sausages.

It’s official - renowned Mudgee butcher, S & S Meats houses the best pork, gourmet, continental and chicken sausages in the Central West.

S & S Meats dominated the competition, winning four of the five categories and a third place for its Australian tasty sausages. The Central West competition is part of the national sausage king competition, making it S & S Meats’ most successful sausage year ever.

Now the sausages are off to state awards to compete against the best in NSW, and according to owner, Clint Ramien they reckon they’ve got a pretty good chance.

“It’d be great to bring some state awards home, they’re definitely good enough to win it,” he said,

“Maintaining quality is important, we make sure everything has to be 100 per cent right.

“It’s all about customer satisfaction, if they’re happy then so are we.”

Mr Ramien said it was once again an honour to come in the top ranks of the prestigious Australian Meat Industry Council contest.

They will progress to the NSW Sausage King final at Sydney’s Darling Harbour on October 11. The national titles are scheduled for Adelaide in March.

All sausages are made on site at S & S Meats on Mortimer Street Mudgee.
